Defining Discipline - Pharmacy

After researching four different websites,  I can define a pharmacist as someone who administers different medications to individuals and can properly educate on the dosage, effects, and even monitor the patients progress with the drug.  After completing pharmacy school you graduate with a PharmD, which means they are a Doctor of Pharmacy.  Pharmacists can work in retail, like a drugstore, or in a health care facility, primarily a hospital.  In a hospital setting, a pharmacist is also given the opportunity to specialize in certain fields, like oncology, geriatric pharmacy, and psychiatric pharmacy.

When first defining pharmacy I knew that there was retail and hospital setting pharmacists and that in a hospital, specializing is common, but what I didn't know was how many different specialties there are.  That excites me even more that I can specialize in somethings that I didn't even know they had.  The definitions on the websites we more formal than mine, and also very informative.
